This is your chance to meet with a UK Trade & Investment adviser on a 1-2-1 basis to discuss how to do business in the US.
As the world’s biggest economy and top trading partner to over 70 countries, the US is an exciting prospect for UK exporters. Yet don’t be fooled; the US and UK are divided by a common language. The US market requires as much research and preparation as any other. The cultural differences far outweigh the linguistic similarities and many exporters fail to make the necessary adjustments to their approach and communication.
Ameeta Virk, International Trade Adviser, Language & Culture Specialist for the UKTI, offers guidance on:
How to pitch in a language Americans understand
Cultural/linguistic differences between UK/US
Adapting websites and marketing materials for the US audience
Options for US market entry
Regional differences – all states are different!
Selling to Americans – closing the deal
Networking effectively with Americans
