Who Should Attend

This course is ideal for food handlers in catering, retail or manufacturing businesses, who have previously achieved the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering/Retail/Manufacturing to remind them of their responsibilities towards food safety, keep their knowledge up-to-date and become aware of any changes in legislation

What You Will Learn

By the end of the course candidates will:

– Understand the importance of food safety procedures and reporting and how individuals can take personal responsibility for food safety
– Understand effective personal hygiene practices, their importance in food safety and their role in reducing the risk of contamination
– Understand how working areas are kept clean and hygienic
– Be able to identify the sources and risks to food safety and understand the importance of keeping food safe

Additional Information

Candidates must provide evidence of having previously undertaken and passed a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, Retail or Manufacturing which has been awarded by any QCA/Ofqual accredited awarding body.

The CIEH recommend that all candidates who have taken the CIEH Level 2 Awards in Food Safety take this short refresher course every three years.
