If you’re planning a new business or have recently started, this FREE start-up programme is for you! Led by business professionals who have already assisted hundreds of new entrepreneurs to build their own successful enterprises, these two FREE workshops, made possible with funding from BEST Growth Hub and delivered by Colbea, give you the opportunity to explore the essential requirements of planning, starting and running your own business.

Day 2, ‘Preparing to Trade Your Business’ – Saturday 12 March at Ingatestone & Fryering Community Association, Ingatestone, Essex – shows you how to prepare your business plan and be ready to get your business ready to trade. You will learn how to:

• Identify the key aims for the business and setting clear goals and objectives.
• Review financial foundations; survival budgets, start-up costs and capital investment.
• Evaluate financial forecasts and commercial viability.
• Explore the legal and regulatory requirements of the business.
• Prepare a SWOT analysis and analyse your business strengths and weaknesses.
• Prepare a Marketing Action Plan.
• Identify sources of business support and plan how to take advantage of them.

BEST Workshops start at 9.30am and finish at 4pm

Previously, Day 1 ‘An Introduction to Running Your Own Business’ – Saturday 27 February at Ingatestone & Fryering Community Association, Ingatestone, Essex.
– You will learn:
• The pros and cons of being your own boss.
• The demands of running a business; are you ready to get started?
• Researching your market and winning new customers.
• The fundamentals of financial forecasting; the numbers you need to master.
• The options and availability of funding for businesses.
• An overview of the legal requirements of starting a business.
• How to start on your business plans.

During the workshops you’ll be provided with comprehensive course notes and business planning templates, there will be time to ask questions and you’ll be meeting other like-minded people. The workshops are run two weeks apart to give you time to undertake your research and planning and during this time you’ll also have access to online information and support.
